Special Needs Patients
Many people with special needs (i.e. Autism, Alzheimers, Dementia, developmental delay, debilitating physical impairments) require special care. They may be more susceptible to tooth decay, gum disease or oral trauma. They may also require medication or a diet that is detrimental to their dental health. There are also patients who have medical problems such as assorted neurological diagnoses who may have uncontrollable movements.
For these patients, dental treatment without sedation or general anesthesia is impossible.
